We need to use this week as a reminder to re-focus on tackling the stigma that still surrounds the subject of Mental Health. The reminder needs to highlight that everyone should feel that its ok to ask for help, guidance and/or advice. Even if a person feels like they just need to talk over an issue with someone else.
It is so incredibly important to look after yourself and your mental health during times of stress and high demand, especially if you are participating in a work based training qualification.
At Waste Training & Consultancy Ltd, we understand how important it is to promote Mental Health Awareness Week. We respect and support our learners, and help individuals understand and manage potential mental health challenges that may be experienced throughout their learning journey.
Our Director and Principal Assessor, Lynda, has a diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and is a practitioner of Mindfulness-Stress Based Reduction Therapy. With her knowledge and expertise, Lynda is particularly nurturing and well positioned to support learners and equip them with the necessary tools to navigate and thrive during completion of their qualifications whilst also working a full time management position.
Lynda: "Having personally experienced the effects of poor mental health in the past; I felt it necessary to educate myself to help with the healing process. Over the years, I have learnt many coping strategies for many different intricacies of Mental Health and I wanted to incorporate my strategies and my learnings into my role as a trainer, mentor, coach and assessor, as I have seen a great deal of poor Mental Health within the Waste Industry".
